Does size matter? From 21st August 2006 it will.

Royal Mail has announced that from 21st August 2006 mail will no longer be rated on weight and the class of service alone. With the introduction of Pricing in Proportion (PiP) the size and thickness of mail, together with its weight and class of service will determine the price.

An A4 document sent out un-folded in a C4 envelope would be classed as a large letter
Folding that same document/set of documents into DL or C5 envelope could significantly reduce postage costs
